We're a nonprofit on a mission to better support parents, so they can better support their families and themselves.
The CHALLENGE
Today's parents are caught in an impossible situation of being asked to do more... with less time and fewer resources.
Add to that, outdated parenting narratives continue to ignore the complex, diverse realities of today's families.
The VISION
We at ALL PARENTS WELCOME (APW) envision a world with more support for all parents — regardless of gender, sexual orientation, cultural identity or socioeconomic status — through needed resources, research, education, training, and community building.
We believe every parent, regardless of how they came to parenthood, deserves to feel seen and supported.
The WHY
For centuries, humans have built communities to weather storms, celebrate victories, and hold one another up when times get tough. Why should parenting be any different?
If we want to be the best version of ourselves for our children (and let's face it, who doesn't!?), then one of the most overlooked resources available is one another — unfortunately, there are too many parents being left out of the conversation.
The HOW
APW is changing the narrative by building support systems and access to more resources for those that have been too-often neglected, like:
- parents of children w/ disabilities
- single parents
- parents through adoption or surrogacy
- blended families
- many LGBTQ+ parents
- dads
The FUTURE
Parenthood is an incredible journey. But, at times, it can also feel overwhelming, exhausting, and isolating.
United, we can address serious issues that affect us ALL - from eliminating the stigma surrounding common mental health struggles that can affect any new parent to creating more care equity in homes around the world.
Because in order to build happier and healthier homes for our children, we need to find a way forward... together.
